How are we praying?

Great message at church today.  One thought I would like to share from it.  Our Pastor asked the question, " Are we praying for relief of our situation or are we really praying to God?"  It made me think. So many times we are in the midst of a trying or hard situation and we go to him with our prayers.  Most of the time we already have a preconceived notion of what we are expecting from God without even asking him what HE wants for us.  This is why a lot of times we "think" God is not answering our prayers.  It is not that he is not answering them, he may just not be answering them in the way WE want him to.  So many times, I have looked back and have witnessed how he knew better than me, and so grateful he did not answer my prayers the way I wanted him to.  That question really makes me think about how I am praying in my situations, am I praying for relief in the situation or am I asking God to do what he wants?  I am thankful for solid people in my life to guide and direct me and pour into me.

We are still waiting for our approval letter to come, we were hoping it would come this past week, but so far, no letter, maybe this week !  Please continue to pray for our family, we are feeling all the prayers being offered for us and could truly not do this without them.
